Last weekend I was thrilled to attend the inaugural Kips Bay Decorator Show House in Dallas. The 12,000 square foot French provincial home is located in Old Preston Hollow in Woodland Estates.

For those unfamiliar with how Show Houses work, I will give you a little background: This particular home was donated for use by the current owners, which is currently up for sale with a listing price of $5,750,000.

Designers from all over the country apply to participate. The 27 designers lucky enough to be chosen are each assigned a room and have carte blanche to decorate their space. The designers use their own money, resources, and vendors to complete their room. In return, they receive great exposure and publicity. The homeowner also benefits from great exposure and an increase in the value of their home. The revenue generated from ticket sales supports the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club and local Charities, Dwell with Dignity, and the Crystal Charity Ball.

When I visited, many of the designers were onsite and available to answer questions, which was definitely a treat. Although each space was completely different, I noticed one common theme – wallpaper!
Once fallen out of favor, the resurgence of wallcoverings seems to be going strong.

Now onto the fun stuff! Here are some of my favorite spaces of the home:
