When I first saw Actress Brooke Shields’s New York City townhouse on the pages of Architectural Digest back in 2012, I instantly fell in love. Now as I revisit it in 2020, the classic design still looks timeless, interesting, and chic. Brooke shares the 4 -story Greenwich Village townhouse with her husband, writer and producer Chris Henchy, and her two teenage daughters. Built in 1910, the historical 5 bedroom home needed a total gut renovation. Brooke hired MADE, a Brooklyn design/build firm, and designer and friend David Flint Wood to transform the space.

One goal of the renovation was to preserve as many of the original architectural details as possible. Brooke’s team delivered a gorgeous, family-friendly home with a beautiful mix of antiques of different materials and genres. The warm layered color palette of grays, browns, blues, and “Hermes-orange” is the perfect complement to a crisp autumn day.
