I can’t believe Thanksgiving is just around the corner! Even though many of us will celebrate a little differently this year, it’s still fun to set a beautiful table. I love tablescape scheming because It’s a great creative outlet that doesn’t have to cost a lot of money, and the result isn’t a long-term commitment. I created a simple Thanksgiving table using many items I already had and adding a few easily accessible and affordable new purchases. I don’t like to purchase items that are closely tied to a theme or holiday but prefer to be able to use something more than once a year.

The color palette I chose this year is browns and blue with a pop of green and magenta. It’s not the traditional Thanksgiving palette, but I like that it is a little bit unexpected. The scheme was built around the brown and white bird salad plates from Williams Sonoma. They look like Fall to me but don’t scream Thanksgiving, which would limit their use to just the holiday. The scalloped rattan placemats are a favorite from Pier One (RIP), but I’ve linked similar ones here.

Two of my favorite items in this table setting are the brown ticking stripe tablecloth and ruffled napkins. You’ll never believe the source – Home Depot! They are great quality and well priced, and I was really excited to find them. The wicker napkins rings are from Pottery Barn, and I use them all year-round. The bamboo flatware is from Bed Bath and Beyond. The Dinner plates are my everyday plates from World Market. White plates are great because they go with everything, and you can add color with a salad plate and accessories.

For the centerpiece, I gathered some ginger jars from around the house and nestled 3 together. I love the blue and brown color combo. The Rattan pumpkins are from target and can be used throughout the Fall in a variety of ways. I previously mentioned them in a post about wicker accessories found here. The ginger jars, rattan pumpkins, and some candles were my starting point, and I liked how simple and muted it was. I could have stopped there and been happy, but I added some color.

Hydrangeas from Trader Joes’s placed in small gold-tone glass votive holders from Michaels were an easy addition. I also added ornamental cabbage from Home Depot that I put in small white pots. I love the pop of color it added.

Another Thanksgiving table option is the orange themed table I did a few weeks ago. In this scheme, the beautiful flower arrangement by Chestnut Street Flowers was the star of the show. I brought the blue and white container to them, and they worked their magic. The blue and white tablecloth by Pottery Barn is one I use all year-round. I used the Tava placemat also from Pottery Barn ( fun fact – a picture of my table is on the Pottery Barn website on this product page), and the blue and white bowls are Homegoods finds. Small pumpkins finished off the table and added that pop of orange.

I hope this inspires you to start planning your Thanksgiving table!
